CatchTik values your privacy. This page explains what data we process when you use our site, how that data is used, and the choices available to you.
2. Data We Process
When you use the service, we may process: (a) the TikTok URL you paste for processing, (b) basic technical data such as IP address, device type, browser, and access time for security and service stability, (c) aggregate analytics data to understand site performance.
3. How Data Is Used
Data is used to run the service's core function (fetching public information from a TikTok link), prevent abuse, and improve the quality and performance of the website.
4. Data Storage
We don't permanently store your downloaded files. Downloads are sent directly to your device. However, to power the popular downloads feature, we log the TikTok URL you process along with its post ID, creator name, handle, and public caption, and we save a copy of that content's thumbnail image to a third-party storage service (Google Firebase). An aggregated summary of this data, including the thumbnail, may be shown publicly in the popular downloads section of our site. Raw per-download records are kept for at most 7 days, while aggregated data and thumbnails are kept until removed by our periodic cleanup. Other technical log data may be kept temporarily for security, maintenance, and system audit purposes.
5. Cookies & Analytics
The site uses cookies or similar technology for basic functionality and for your language and display preferences. For usage statistics we use our own self-hosted Umami instance and Ahrefs Web Analytics; both collect aggregate data and do not use cookies to track you as an individual. Cookies set by advertising networks are covered separately in the next section. You can manage or block cookies through your browser's settings.
6. Advertising & Third-Party Services
CatchTik displays ads through Google AdSense to fund the operation of this free service. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. We don't have access to the data collected through those cookies. You can opt out of interest-based advertising through Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info/choices. Interactions with any other third-party services are subject to their own respective privacy policies, not this one.
7. Data Security
We apply reasonable technical measures to protect data from unauthorized access. That said, no method of transmitting data over the internet is 100% secure.
