Is it legal to download someone else's TikTok video?
Saving a copy for personal use is generally fine, but the content's copyright still belongs to the original creator. What's legally risky is redistributing it, reuploading it as your own, or using it commercially without permission. Always credit the original creator when you repost.
Can I repost a video I downloaded through CatchTik?
Yes, for fair use like reactions, reviews, or compilations with clear credit to the original account. For an identical repost with no credit, or for commercial purposes, get permission from the creator first.
Does CatchTik store data from the videos I process?
No. CatchTik only forwards the request to TikTok's public source and streams the result straight to your device. Full details are on the Privacy Policy page.
Format & quality
Why is there a 'with watermark' option if the point is to remove the watermark?
Some users actually need the original version with the watermark kept intact — usually for a repost that requires visual attribution to the source account. This option exists so you can choose based on your need, not just one direction.
Why is my download low-resolution when the video looked HD on TikTok?
CatchTik fetches the highest quality available from TikTok's servers for that video. If the creator uploaded in a lower resolution, or TikTok compressed the video due to a slow connection during upload, the download follows that source quality.
Can I convert MP4 to a different format?
CatchTik only provides the original formats (MP4 for video, JPG/PNG for photos, MP3 for audio). For conversion to another format, you'll need a separate conversion tool after the file downloads.
Usage limits
Is there a daily limit on how many links I can process?
No daily limit for single-link mode. For batch mode (multiple links at once), there's a per-batch limit shown on the batch page — that's to keep server performance stable, not an account restriction, since CatchTik has no account system.
Why does processing keep failing for a specific link?
The most common causes: the post was deleted, the source account is private, the link expired (stories only), or TikTok made a sudden change we haven't caught up with yet. Try again shortly, or report it via the Contact page if it keeps happening.
Can I schedule or automate downloads through CatchTik?
No. CatchTik is built to be used directly by a human through a browser, not via scripts or bots. Excessive automation that burdens the system is prohibited under the Terms of Service.
Privacy & security
Do I need to log in with my TikTok account?
Never. CatchTik only processes the public link you paste and never asks for TikTok account credentials in any form. Be wary of any site that does.
Is it safe to paste a link into CatchTik?
Yes — all you're sharing is a public post URL, not personal data. CatchTik doesn't ask for an email, phone number, or account details to process a link.
Does CatchTik set tracking cookies?
CatchTik may use basic cookies for display preferences and aggregate analytics, but doesn't sell user data to third parties. Details are on the Privacy Policy page.
Troubleshooting
The download button isn't responding, what should I do?
Try refreshing the page and pasting the link again. If it still fails, there may be a temporary issue on TikTok's end. You can check whether the link still opens normally in the TikTok app or website first.
The file I downloaded won't open, why?
This usually happens if the download got interrupted midway — try downloading it again. If you're on a particular mobile browser, also make sure your file player supports standard MP4/MP3 formats.
I can't find an answer to my issue here, what now?
